Navigon to U.S.: Nein to Pricing Pressure
Tough times claim another competitor on the portable navigation (PND) front in the United States: this time it’s Germany’s Navigon that says “uncle.” Navigon says it is getting out of the U.S. PND business, at least temporarily, citing the economy and pricing pressure. While Navigon has stripped down its Chicago office as a result and a “significant number” of Navigon folks lost their jobs, the company says the office will remain open and it will continue to support its current U.S. users.
