Magellan RoadMate 1470 Makes a Dandy First Impression on the Road
Even though its been sitting on my table for a couple of weeks, life has conspired to keep me from trying out the Magellan RoadMate 1470 until today. And I put it to a good test — straight out of the box, no preplanning a route — on a trip to a city a little more than 100 miles north of where I live, to a specific destination I have never been to before. To say the least, the pressure was on this little gizmo.
Magellan Brings OneTouch to RoadMate Line
Magellan has rolled out three new portable navigation devices (PNDs) in its RoadMate line, adding its OneTouch interface previously available only on certain of its Maestro premium models. OneTouch lets users program up to nine different points of interest (POI) or searches that are then available with — you probably figured this part out — one touch of the screen. One touch then begets the user instant directions. Up until today, this feature was only available on the Maestro 4350 and 4370.
