TomTom Brings the Bling with White Pearl

The White Pearl ... with silk tote bag. Annoying little dog sold separately.I saved this one for Friday, ‘cuz it’s usually a slow day … and I was right. Not sure what to think about this one. Euro portable navigation device (PND) giant TomTom this week rolled out the White Pearl, a Paris Hiltonesqe version of its One IQ Routes gadget. According to the company this is a “special edition navigation product with a twist! The White Pearl’s stylish, pearlescent design makes the perfect gift, as well as appealing to the driver who likes a touch of glamor in their car.

TomTom Debuts Connected PND, Brings New One, XL Models to North America – No Foolin’

TomTom Go 740It may be April Fool’s Day, but TomTom apparently isn’t fooling around when it comes to the North American market. Today it unleashed its first connected portable navigation device (PND), the Go 740 Live, hoping to entice buyers with a (relatively) low price tag of $399.95, and the first three months of connected Live services free. Will it set the market aflame where previous connected PND entrants have fizzled? Only time will tell, but on paper at least, the Go 740 Live looks pretty sweet.
